Study in rounds with real breaks
Give a longer study session a clear work-and-rest structure.
Before you start
Open Tysh on your iPhone and grant Screen Time access when prompted.
The default setup is free. Sounds and allowed-app exceptions require Premium; custom Rhythms also require Premium.
Let’s set it up.
Check your Focus settings
In Focus, check your sound and app choices; built-in Rhythms reuse those settings.
Find Classic
Switch to Rhythms and select the built-in Classic pattern.
Start the first round
Start the run and work through the first 25-minute round.
Follow the rhythm
Take the 5-minute rest, then let the next round begin automatically. Repeat until the run ends.
What happens next
Work rounds apply Focus blocking. During rest, Tysh lifts its Focus boundary after arranging automatic re-blocking. Other active protections remain in force. The completion record counts work minutes, excluding rests.
If your plans change
Skip rest starts work again sooner. Built-in patterns are free; custom lengths and saved Rhythms require Premium.
Another active protection can still keep the same app blocked. After setup, check that your boundary saved and enabled successfully.
